Project

Redevelopment of former derelict playing fields to create new B&Q store, nursery and open space

Project.png

Overview

The project comprised the regeneration of an underutilised/derelict playing field with the creation of one of B&Q’s next generation stores, which incorporated a number of sustainable technologies and materials.

The site included a new day nursery, the creation of new publicly accessible open space, associated servicing and new extensive s278 highways works.

Challenges

There were a number of challenges that Quoinstone's expertise and hands-on approach helped overcome during the redevelopment of the playing fields:

  • Accommodating new sustainability measures within the building and environment to help execute the client’s vision.

  • Local drainage and s278 highways works required consultation and agreement with a number of diverse interested parties.
