Redevelopment of former derelict playing fields to create new B&Q store, nursery and open space
The project comprised the regeneration of an underutilised/derelict playing field with the creation of one of B&Q’s next generation stores, which incorporated a number of sustainable technologies and materials.
The site included a new day nursery, the creation of new publicly accessible open space, associated servicing and new extensive s278 highways works.
There were a number of challenges that Quoinstone's expertise and hands-on approach helped overcome during the redevelopment of the playing fields:
Accommodating new sustainability measures within the building and environment to help execute the client’s vision.
Local drainage and s278 highways works required consultation and agreement with a number of diverse interested parties.
Delivery of forward-thinking sustainability project
Quoinstone delivered a high-quality end product for the client, which included a number of new technologies which were then incorporated within the standard B&Q store development requirements.
Completed on time and within budget
The redevelopment was completed within the overall parameters of cost and programme set by the client.
