Project

Redevelopment of site to create destination retail park

Project.png

Overview

The project comprised the regeneration of a series of underutilised/ derelict buildings and the creation of a new destination retail park.

The project included inward facing, large format retail units with surface car parking and drive-through fast food unit.

Challenges

There were a number of challenges that Quoinstone's expertise and hands-on approach helped overcome whilst developing the retail park.

  • The site was located near a tidal and river affected stream; as well as bounded by an access road and a main road. Ground conditions were also not ideal and required careful consideration and an appropriate solution implemented.

  • There was existing drainage and services running under the site. The design and layout needed to be sympathetic of these pre-existing conditions.

  • Managing a phased handover of units whilst continuing infrastructure delivery and construction in other phases.

  • Accommodating late changes to design and layout to suit occupier requirements.
